Pinewood Atlanta Studios to Double in Size

Pinewood Atlanta Studios is starting phase 2 and increasing in size to become the largest movie studio in Georgia.

New soundstages are being built to make the Pinewood studios the largest facility in Georgia. According to reports, executives are expanding Pinewood Atlanta Studios in Fayetteville, Georgia.

Earth-moving equipment is being assembled on the 288-acre Pinewood Atlanta Studios property on Veterans Parkway in Fayetteville for the next installment of movie-making soundstages, workshop space and offices. [via]

Pinewood Atlanta Studios is adding five new soundstages as part of Phase 2 of the Pinewood Studios project. Construction is start in the next few weeks. One of the building will house two 20,000 sq. ft soundstages and 20,000 sq.  ft. of office space. A second building will also house a soundstage with 30,000 sq. ft.

Pinewood Atlanta Studios, is currently filming Marvel’s ‘Ant-Man’, which will be released in 2015. It is also reported that Marvel’s next movie, Captain America 3 will film in Pinewood Atlanta Studios.

Pinewood Atlanta Studios has a huge reputation in Hollywood for providing some of the best facilities for filmmaking. The studios have played host to many productions over the years from huge blockbuster films to television shows, commercials and pop promos and is well known as the home of the Carry On, Superman, and James Bond film series.

Pinewood Atlanta is a joint venture between the studio and River’s Rock LLC, an independently managed trust of the Cathy family, founders of the Chick-fil-A fast-food chain.
