Michael B. Jordan Reunites with High School Reporter at ‘Creed III’ Premiere: ‘I Was the Corny Kid, Right?’

Date:

Michael B. Jordan showed incredible composure when interviewed by a reporter who used to ridicule him in high school, demonstrating admirable grace under pressure.

Despite the awkwardness of being confronted with an old bully, he conducted himself with poise and good humor – displaying true professionalism while also highlighting his impressive personal growth over time.

Michael B. Jordan has been granted the opportunity to prove his worth and surpass those who had once teased him in high school. While dazzling on the red carpet for Creed III, actor/director Michael B. Jordan took a moment to answer some questions from The Morning Hustle host Lore’l. It turned out that the two of them had gone to Chad Science Academy in Newark together, and Lore’l recently disclosed on a podcast how everyone at school used to make fun of Jordan because of his name. Additionally, when Elba attended school, his peers would take advantage of the fact that he brought headshots with him and purchased them.

“We teased him all the damn time because his name was Michael Jordan. Let’s start there, and he was no Michael Jordan,” In her podcast on NME, Lore’l shared her thoughts. “And he also would come to school with a headshot. We lived in Newark; that’s the hood. We would make fun of him like, ‘What you gonna do with your stupid headshot!?’ And now look at him!”

As Lore’l approached Jordan on the red carpet, he stunned her, confirming she had heard what he had uttered correctly.

“[I was] the corny kid, right?” He acknowledged her recent podcast conversation in his response.

I did not say that! I was misquoted. I heard it. I heard it. What’s up?

“I said we used to make fun of the name,” she said. “But yeah, he is killing things out here.”

Lore’l attempted to rectify the situation by assuring Jordan that he was “no longer corny,” yet his response of walking away only made matters more uncomfortable and awkward.
