Matthew McConaughey is Interested in Doing "True Detective" Again

Matthew McConaughey is Open to doing another season of HBO's 'True Detective'

Matthew McConaughey's plan was to do a single season of HBO's 'True Detective'. He agreed to doing "one season, eight episodes, a finite beginning, middle, and end, goodbye, look forward to watching it." But now that the show is over he is interested in doing another season. In a recent interview with Deadline, Matthew McConaughey revealed his interest in the hit TV series HBO's 'True Detective'
I liked True Detective, the whole series and the experience of making it, so much that I’d be open to doing another one now. At the time, I was looking at six months and not beyond that. I don’t know of a feature film I’d sign for where I’m going to say, “If this works, you’ve got me whenever you want me for the next three years.” (Via)
Matthew McConaughey continues on by saying there was a certain kind of appeal that HBO's True Detective did not provide. He even contemplated the risk of moving from movies to TV as an actor, which in the past can be very damaging to an actor's career. He pointed out that he debated with his agent about the career move but at the end of the day he said "“We can sit here and debate whether or not this is a good career move. The main thing is, if this is turning me on, and we’ve got a quality director and this dynamite script with a character for me that is highly original, then we just have to go for it.” Photo Credit: HBO Photo Credit: HBO True Detective's creator Nic Pizzolatto recently commented on the second season of the HBO series. " The characters are all new, but I am deeply in love with all of them. We have the entire season broken out, and I have a couple of scripts, and we’ll probably start casting within the coming month." Perhaps with this new revelation from Matthew McConaughey there is a possibility for Rusty Cohle to return. Would you like to see Matthew McConaughey return to HBO's 'True Detective'?
