Kim Kardashian Crosses Picket Line Into American Horror Story: WGA Strike

Kim Kardashian Sparks Controversy as She Films American Horror Story Amid WGA Strike

In a surprising turn of events, Kim Kardashian has found herself at the center of controversy as she allegedly crossed the Writers Guild of America picket line to continue filming the upcoming season of American Horror Story. On May 31, strike captain Warren Leight tweeted, “Sad to report that Kim Kardashian crossed our midtown picket line today. Ushered past us into a freight elevator in her chauffeured Escalade. Writers aren’t keeping up, but Kim Krossed Our Line.”

While it is important to note that working actors are contractually obligated to perform until June 30, which technically exempts Kardashian from being considered a scab, Leight expressed that she had the opportunity to support the striking writers but chose not to exercise her leverage. Speaking to the Daily Beast, Leight revealed, “We set up a line, and she was driven past it into a waiting freight elevator. Building security guard put on a bulletproof vest, which seemed over the top.”

Meanwhile, the creator of American Horror Story, Ryan Murphy, has actively shown solidarity with the striking writers by contributing a significant sum of $1.7 million to a relief fund. The highly anticipated 12th season of the show, titled “Delicate,” is based on Danielle Valentine’s novel of the same name and has been filming in New York since April, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The WGA previously halted production on May 3, as confirmed by WGA member Kaitlin Fontana.

Vulture has contacted Kardashian and FX for comment regarding this matter. Considering Kardashian’s membership in the Screen Actors Guild (SAG), there is speculation on whether she might also participate in potential strikes organized by SAG.
