According to the NYPost, it's pretty expensive. You have to pay for the dress, professional stylists, and tailor, "For a major red carpet like the Golden Globes, that means a payday of over $10,000 for several days of work." But, did you know studio executives foot the bill for your favorite actress' wardrobe. Then it comes down to the hair and makeup. Apparently, it costs over $6,000 for hair and another $5,000 for make up. In fact, hair stylists charge about $2,000/day.

In addition, make-up artists charge $1,500/hour and that must include a consultation meeting. Did you know Amy Adams spent $5,000 for her make up last year? The biggest expense is jewelry as celebrities rent out fashion jewlery for the Golden Globes. But, for major actresses wearing $300k earings and bracelets, professional security is hired just to protect the diamonds. While they may not actually wear the same dress, they are both may end up presenting together."Jennifer was on Seth Meyers' show recently and made the comment that she would love to present with Amy but nobody's asked her to. Of course, the minute we heard that we were on the phone the next morning," producer Barry Adelman told Vanity Fair. "Sometimes when people are nominated, they don't feel like presenting. They'd rather just go through the process of the show, but we may be in luck on that. Stay tuned. We'll see how it's going to turn out."
He commands a reported $2,000 day rate. Multiply that times Abergel’s estimation of a few days of prep, and you’re looking at $6,000.
Despite all of this money spent on clothing, nails, hair, and wardrobe, expect Ricky Gervais not to hold back tonight. "It's a challenge.
