After a stint in prison for robbing three banks on Belle Isle, Florida, back in 2001, 54-year-old Nacoe Ray Brown of Baltimore was granted an early release. Court documents testify to this fact.

“Wearing a baseball cap, sunglasses, a surgical-style facemask, and plastic gloves, Brown passed a note to the teller threatening that he had a gun and demanding money,” According to a statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida.

Security cameras caught Brown talking to the teller throughout his robbery, and eventually, he made off with a total of $4,296 in stolen money.

According to court documents, an eyewitness observed Brown run away from the bank and go to a gas station nearby that had clothes ready for him.

Law enforcement arrived at Brown’s hotel and located him in only a few moments. After searching his belongings, police uncovered the demand note that he handed the teller and all of the stolen cash in his bag. Additionally, they discovered the disguise he threw away in a restroom located within a nearby gas station.

Upon apprehending Brown, he confessed that he had committed the bank robbery. “Because he was filming a movie in Florida and had run out of money to pay for the production,” a court release said.

The potential penalty for the bank robbery offense Brown committed could result in a maximum of 20 years imprisonment, coupled with an additional three-year term if it is found he violated his supervised release terms. Although not yet scheduled, sentencing will take place at a later date.
