Casting for Disney’s Han Solo Movie is Down to a Few Actors

Date:

Casting for Disney’s Han Solo movie is down to only a few actors.

The fight for the control of the Millenium Falcon is ramping up.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, there are only a few remaining actors for the leading role in Disney’s movie about young Han Solo. The creative minds behind the origin story have torn between Alden Ehrenreich, Jack Reynor and Taron Egerton as the possible actors to replace Harrison Ford’s memorable role.

Sources close to The Hollywood Reporter said screen test auditions took place last weekend in London, and with so many secrets behind the project, there could be several other actors still on the list.

But considering the fact that more than 2,500 actors allegedly auditioned for the role, narrowing it down to a short list is pretty remarkable.

Let’s take a closer look at the actors that made the short list.

The only American out of the three was a leading actor in the box office flop Hail, Caesar!. Ehrenreich played a Western star named Hobie Doyle and he definitely has a unique acting style about him.

He also appeared in several indie movies such as Beautiful Creatures, Stoker and Blue Jasmine.

Jack Reynor

Jack Reynor was born in America, but has lived in Ireland since he was two years old. Now twenty two years later, the actor is best known for his role as a race car driver in the movie Transformers: Age of Extinction, the fourth movie in the franchise.

He most recently worked alongside Michael Fassbender in the William Shakespeare play turned movie Macbeth.

Taron Egerton

Taron Egerton is probably the most famous out of all of the actors listed to replace Harrison Ford. Egerton has already enjoyed major box office success with 2014’s Kingsman: The Secret Service. The 26-year-old actor starred in smaller movies like the box office flop Eddie The Eagle and the relatively unknown movie Legend.

If Disney is interested in adding a major name to the franchise, Taron Egerton is most likely going to be Disney’s top choice.

Once the leading man is secured, the standalone Han Solo movie is scheduled to hit theaters in 2018.
