Chelsea Handler to end talk show in August
As of August 27, Chelsea Handler will leave her late-night talk show position. In a recent press release, E! announced Chelsea Handler‘s TV series’ Chelsea Lately will end their run on Tuesday, August 26.
I myself am more surprised than anyone that I was able to hold down a job for seven years, and it was a fantastic seven years. I will always look back at my time on E! as most people look back at their time in college. I’m glad I went.
Many people have mixed opinions about Chelsea Handler. But, she had a loyal audience until a The Hollywood Reporter article was published. Earlier this year, The Hollywood Reporter published a story saying that Chelsea Handler had been dissatisfied with the network and wanted to leave at the end of the year. According to Gawker, “in March, when that Hollywood Reporter story came out, her viewership was down to 572,000 a night (compared to 839,000 in 2010).”
After Chelsea Handler leaves, there will be no female late night talk show hosts on U.S. TV.
Chelsea Handler she moved from New Jersey to Los Angeles, California to pursue an acting career, and two years later, became a stand-up comic after telling her story about a DUI to a class of other offenders, who found it funny.
