The founder and former owner of Blackhall Studios, Michael Millsap, is looking for ways to bring action and knowledge to a vast internet site in Newton County, Georgia, roughly 40 miles east of Atlanta. According to Millsap, he and investors have acquired 1,500 acres. They intend to build a campus for his new motion picture production company, including soundstage and post-production facilities.

Millsap has long been interested in the potential for a project; he was at the Blackhall Studios complex in Covington, Georgia, back in 2009. The new venture attempts to take advantage of the state’s generous tax breaks for motion picture productions. I want to bring big-budget, Hollywood-style action movies to Georgia.

“This is the sort of house we want to fly in Blackhawk helicopters and travel Humvees at velocity,” he reported. “We have lakes and swamps and rivers and forests and fields and hills and dales. That is the pleasant factor about 1,500 acres.”

“This is going to try out to recapture the glory times of motion-journey,” Millsap said. “Assume about Crimson Dawn. All those varieties of things will need to be produced all over again.”

Millsap said that production on movies and series would begin at the brand-new campus in Covington, located off Elks Club Road, by the end of this summer.

“It’s in the long run likely to be a substantial output campus not dissimilar to Tyler’s campus,” Millsap said, referring to film mogul Tyler Perry and his 330-acre studio that encompasses a dozen soundstages, inexperienced area, and 40 historic structures.

According to Newton County tax documents, Millsap acquired the property for approximately $14 million.

“This is not a campus for other people today to use. This is a campus just for Blackhall Americana,” he explained. “It is going to be designed out as we have to have it.”

Jeremy Millsap has been an incredible year. In May, he sold the 9-soundstage Blackhall Studios campus in Atlanta to Los Angeles personal equity firm Commonwealth Asset Management for $120 million. Millsap was given the right to continue using the name Blackhall. Since it opened in 2017, Blackhall has become a popular production destination for feature films and television series, including “American Made,” “The Mule,” and the AMC series “Halt Catch Fire.”

The firm’s planned campus would be built on a string of production facilities in the eastern counties of Georgia. The properties, which are 6 miles south of Covington and outside the city limits, are 6 miles south of Cinelease – A few Ring Studios, a 50-acre Television and film manufacturing campus that just received an injection of cash from Tyler Perry.

The new plant will be located in the ‘Blackhall Americana’ campus, 10 miles south of Rivian’s planned — but not yet authorized — $5 billion electric vehicles manufacturing complex.

Georgia has evolved into a significant film and television production center, owing to a beneficial incentive strategy that provides studios with a 20% tax credit history for projects valued more than $500K and another 10% incentive if the Georgia seal is seen in the course of the movie. People’s credits are tradable, which means that studios may sell them to highlight organizations at a lower price and even now recoup some of their costs.

As a result, the state has lured productions away from other locales with more expensive film incentive programs, such as California, New York, and Louisiana.

In 2018, a record-breaking $2.7 billion was spent on film and television productions in Georgia, up from $1.7 billion the year before. And in 2019, the state is on track to break that record, with more than $3 billion already being spent on productions.

This influx of cash has directly impacted the state’s economy, with film and television productions supporting more than 92,000 jobs in Georgia.

Millsap revealed that with Blackhall Americana, he aims to go considerably beyond what he accomplished with his debut studio. He wants to build content assistance to compete with the industry’s most significant players.

“This is way further than Tyler [Perry Studios],” he claimed. “This is a Netflix competitor.”

After making it big in the studio and moving into content creation, Millsap is busy closing a colossal land deal near his new home. According to a memorandum of the agreement filed with the Newton County Superior Court over the previous 30 days, he acquired 1,000 acres from BPV True Estate Holdings LLC and Susan Wahl in Newton County, just across the border from Covington.

Millsap mentioned that he plans to collaborate with a crucial developer to transform the location into a big industrial venture that isn’t connected to Blackhall Americana’s internet site.
