According to reports, the sequel to the critically acclaimed box office hit, Barbershop is heading to the Peach State this May.

It’s looking likely that Barbershop 3 will film in Atlanta, as early as May. Malcolm D. Lee (The Best Man, The Best Man Holiday, Undercover Brother) will direct, with Ice Cube and Cedric the Entertainer expected to reprise their roles from the 2002 original and its 2004 sequel.
The first Barbershop movie made $75 million in 2002 and the 2004 sequel grossed $65 million. Rotten Tomatoes gives the film a "Certified Fresh" rating and a score of 82% based on 124 reviews,
with the critical consensus "Besides bringing on the laughs, Barbershop displays a big heart and demonstrates the value of community." Metacritic gives the film a weighted average score of 66% based on reviews from 29 critics.

During the fall of 2005, State Street and Ice Cube created and released Barbershop: The Series
on the Showtime cable network, with Omar Gooding taking overIce Cube's role of Calvin. In addition, Isaac's last name is changed from "Rosenberg" to "Brice", and the character Ricky has been replaced by a more hardened ex-con, Romadal.
