In 2022, a mere three movies achieved the distinguished billion-dollar mark. Of these feature films, Top Gun: Maverick did so in an astounding 31 days, while Jurassic World Dominion reached $1 billion after four months. If we look at 2019’s stats, however, nearly double that number of nine flicks made it past this benchmark! Avatar 2 has made history as the quickest film to surpass $1 billion since Spider-Man: No Way Home’s 12-day record in 2021. Out of all movies ever released, only six have reached this milestone within two weeks of their debut.

James Cameron’s long-awaited sequel shows excellent promise as we transition into the new year. As he stated earlier, with such an ambitious budget, this film needed to perform well to validate its enormous costs – and so far, all signs point towards success!

Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, and Sigourney Weaver all come back for the long-awaited sequel of this movie – you still have time to watch it in theaters now!

Get ready for the third installment, hitting theaters on December 20th, 2024!
