Atlanta Film Industry Injured by TV Cancellations

Several TV shows that filmed in Atlanta, Georgia have been cancelled as TV executives pull the plug on several productions.

According to reports, Containment, and Game of Silence were canceled by The CW and NBC. Game Silence, which filmed throughout Georgia, centered around a rising attorney on the brink of success who could lose his perfectly crafted life when his long-lost childhood friends threaten to expose a dark secret from their violent past. And Containment follows an epidemic that breaks out in Atlanta, leaving the large city quarantined and those stuck on the inside fighting for their lives. The drama tells the story of loved ones torn apart, and how the society that grows inside the cordon reveals both the devolution of humanity and the birth of unlikely heroes.

Vampire Diaries Sleepy hollow Originals

But, it could have been worse. There were rumors that The CW planned on canceling The Originals and The Vampire Diaries, two TV shows that have filmed in Atlanta, Georgia for several years. However, The CW announced that they will renew the two shows for another season. But, if ratings continue to slip, expect The CW to pull the plug.

In addition, it was rumored that Fox would cancel Sleepy Hollow after only three seasons. But, Fox executives decided to give the show another season even though Season 3 ratings plummeted.

Fox’s Star filmed their TV pilot in Atlanta, Georgia. But, we will have to wait and see if Lee Daniels’ and company decided to film the series in the ATL.
