Nic Cage and Tim Burton almost made a 'Superman' movie and was later canned.

Superman film, starring
Nicolas Cage, and written by
Kevin Smith and directed by
Tim Burton that seemed to make it extremely interesting before it was later cancelled.
The documentary
The Death of Superman Lives centers on the doomed production and the movie's first trailer was recently released.
The Death of Superman Lives, a
Superman suit that included plastic armor and a strange lightning effects. The whole experience seems pretty bizarre and you can understand why executives canned the project.

The documentary is currently crowdfunding to raise funds needed to finish, and it looks like the final product of the movie will be off the charts. There's a world between creative ideas and "this finished film is great." This documentary exposes that world between those statements.
