Leonardo DiCaprio's 'The Revenant' Open Casting Call in Santa Fe, New Mexico

'The Revenant' starring Leonardo DiCaprio is holding an open casting call for people to appear in the upcoming movie filming in Sante Fe, New Mexico.

Leonardo DiCaprio will star as a fur trapper who is left for dead in the wilderness of early 19th century North America. The movie will be directed by Oscar nominee Alejandro González Iñárrituaccording to the Hollywood Reporter. The film will be DiCaprio's follow-up to the critically acclaimed Martin Scorsese comedy The Wolf of Wall Street. THE REVENANT is an adaptation of the Michael Punke novel The Revenant: A Novel of Revenge, is the story of a 19th century fur trapper, Hugh Glass, who gets mauled by a grizzly bear. Near death, the terrain makes it impossible for his colleagues to carry him back to their fort. They leave him for dead but he survives and sets out on a treacherous journey to exact revenge on those who betrayed him and left him for dead. The New Mexico Film Commission posted a casting call stating casting directors are currently seeking Native American teens ages 12 to 18, Native American Men that look weathered and rugged, Native American women that look like female warriors. No acting experience is necessary. All actors will have a meeting with the Casting Director Rene Haynes. Transportation and lodging will be provided for those that are selected and all roles are paid according to SAG/AFTRA (Union) rates. For more details, check out the casting notice below:
