The Blunderer Movie Starring Jessica Biel Casting Call

Date:

The Blunderer Movie starring Jessica Biel and Patrick Wilson is now filming in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Following Christine Vachone selecting Cincinnati for the filming location of “Carol”, starring Cate Blanchettt in early 2014, Vachone fell in love with the city.

The producer fell so in love with the city that she decided to come back to the region this fall to shoot another movie, according to reports.

“We had a great experience in Cincinnati on our film ‘Carol,’ said Vachon. “The Film Commission, the rebate, locations, infrastructure and welcoming people of Cincinnati – brought us back a second time within one year.”

The Blunderer will feature Jessica Biel and Patrick Wilson, and will be directed by Andy Goddard. Ted Hope of Killer Films will also produce the film alongside Christine Vachone.

The movie is financed in part by the tax incentive that Ohio offers for film projects. The Ohio tax incentives for productions produced in Ohio have increased from $10 million a year to $20 million a year.

Goddard has directed episodes of the hit British television series “Downton Abby,” “Law & Order: UK,” and “Doctor Who.” Some of Jessica Biel’s most recent work includes “Hitchcock” and the 2012 remake of “Total Recall.” Many people will recognize Wilson as the supernatural investigating husband Ed Warren in the horror film “The Conjuring.”

“We are maintaining sustainable work for locals,” said Kristen Schlotman, Executive Director of the Greater Cincinnati Film Commission. “We are also excited to have attracted and retained so many young people to Greater Cincinnati. This industry has had a tremendous impact on the local economy and we are excited to have repeat business with Killer Films. People come to Cincinnati and then want to return.”

It is expected that production companies have spent well over $26 million in the city of Cincinnati, Ohio. Filming on “The Blunderer” started on November 17th and finishes on December 21st. Production offices for the movie have already opened.

The plot of the movie is based on another novel by Patricia Highsmith, whose novel “The Price of Salt” was the source material for “Carol.”

The following is an Amazon.com synopsis of the book’s plot:

‘For two years, Walter Stackhouse has been a faithful and supportive husband to his wife, Clara. She is distant and neurotic, and Walter finds himself harboring gruesome fantasies about her demise. When Clara’s dead body turns up at the bottom of a cliff in a manner uncannily resembling the recent death of a woman named Helen Kimmel who was murdered by her husband, Walter finds himself under intense scrutiny. He commits several blunders that claim his career and his reputation, cost him his friends, and eventually threaten his life. The Blunderer examines the dark obsessions that lie beneath the surface of seemingly ordinary people. With unerring psychological insight, Patricia Highsmith portrays characters who cross the precarious line separating fantasy from reality.’

And like “Carol,” the producers for “The Blunderer” are looking for local talent and props for the shoot.
