Love to Write? National Hispanic Media Coalition TV Screenwriting Program

Date:

The National Latino Media Council and National Hispanic Media Coalition are currently accepting submissions for their NLMC/NHMC TV writers program.

The NLMC/NHMC Television Writers Program was originally created in 2003 as an intensive scriptwriting workshop. The program designed to prepare and help place Latinos in writing jobs for major television networks.

The program was first modeled after the Hispanic Film project, the program was also created in direct response to the lack of diversity on primetime network TV shows.

According to their website, “the NLMC/NHMC Writers Program was created in accordance with NHMC’s mission to improve the image of American Latinos as portrayed by the media, and increase the number of American Latinos employed in all facets of the media industry and with the idea that if there are more diverse writers present at the writer’s table, more diversity will be reflected on TV. (NHMC)”
