Disney’s ‘Aladdin’ Open Audition is This Weekend

Date:

Do you have what it takes to become the next Aladdin?

Do you not to sing and dance? Does the idea of working on probably one of the next biggest movies in Hollywood and perhaps the world interest you? If yes, then there is an Aladdin audition call for London actors and dancers this weekend.

According to Radio One, the new, live-action version of Disney’s Aladdin is looking for its lead actor. The call includes the fact that the character is Middle Eastern, between 18-22 years old, and has both a charismatic air and handsome looks. You’ll need to be able to sing (dancing is less of a requirement, but it’s certainly a plus) and be physically fit.

Applicants will need to be available from the end of May for preparation, and then for filming, which will take place from mid-August until January next year.

This is a worldwide call, and the UK section will be held on 14 May at the Old College Building (formerly the Cochrane Theatre) in Holborn, London between 10:00am and 3:00pm. Good luck!

If you’re unable to make it to the open casting call, then I have good news for you you can still submit an email audition and video audition. To apply and for more information click here.

About Aladdin:

Disney’s Aladdin live-adaptation remake will be a reboot of the class and “will keep many of the musical elements of the original” and is described as “an ambitious and non-traditional take” on the material, which will incorporate director Guy Ritchie’s signature filmmaking style. That said, the approach to the Genie – portrayed by the late Robin Williams in the animated movie – is still to be determined.

This is the second live-action  Aladdin movie in the works at Disney. The studio also reportedly developing the prequel Genies, which based upon a script by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift (Freddy vs. Jason, Friday the 13th) Genies will “focus on the realm of the Genies and reveal how Aladdin’s Genie ended up enslaved in the lamp.”
