Denzel Washington‘s new Netflix movie “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” is now casting African American actors for a party scene in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Casting directors are now casting actors, models, and talent to work on scenes filming on Friday, July 12th in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Producers are seeking the following types:
- African American extras ages 18+ needed for big, fun scene on FRIDAY, JULY 12th for "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom"
- Ma Rainey is set in 1927, looking for a classic, natural looks:-Natural hair (no extensions, weaves,braids, or dyed hair) -Natural lashes and brows (No lash extensions) -No acrylic or painted nails. -No ear gauges or facial piercings. -No facial/neck tattoos.
About ‘MA RAINEY’S BLACK BOTTOM’:Denzel Washington revealed nearly a half-decade ago, his plans to produce 10 of August Wilson’s plays, which consists of 10 plays portraying the 20th century African American experience, from the early 1900s, just after slavery and the Civil War, to the 1990s, into feature films. He first started with the film adaptation of Wilson’s “Fences”. Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom is a 1982 play – one of the ten-play Pittsburgh Cycle by August Wilson – that chronicles the twentieth century African American experience. The play is set in Chicago in the 1920s, and centers around issues of race, religion and the historic exploitation of black recording artists by white producers.
