Broadway’s ‘Lion King’ Casting Call for Singers and Dancers in Hawaii

Disney is now casting dancers and singers for the hit musical ‘Lion King’

Disney Theatrical Productions will host open call auditions in Honolulu at Ballet Hawai’i (777 South Hotel Street, Suite 101, Honolulu, HI 96813) in mid-February (dates listed below) for possible future replacements for both the Broadway and North American touring productions of Disney’s The Lion King.

Male and female singers and dancers of all cultural backgrounds are encouraged to attend the open casting call and apply:

The casting search will be directed by Mark Brandon (Casting Director), who is responsible for the casting of all North American companies of The Lion King and has cast other numerous Broadway shows.

SINGERS:

Seeking strong dynamic singers between 18 – 35 years old for all roles including the African lions “Simba” and “Nala.”

WHEN:
Sunday, February 16, 2014
Sign in from 11:30am – 1:00pm
Auditions begin at 12:00pm

PREPARE:
Singers must bring sheet music of a song that shows off their voice and range in 16 bars (standard, classic R & B); pianist provided.  Singers should not perform standard Broadway theater music or material from THE LION KING.  Singers must bring a recent picture and resume or list of performance experience.


FEMALE DANCERS

Seeking strong female dancers of all cultural backgrounds between 18 – 30 years old with a classical and modern dance background.

HOW TO PREPARE:

Male and female dancers must be warmed up and ready to dance at their respective date and time in flat jazz shoes or bare feet. Dancers may be asked to sing, so should bring sheet music and prepare a song that shows off their voice and range; pianist provided.  Dancers should bring a recent picture and resume or list of performance experience.
