You Will Never Guess How Much Gal Gadot Was Paid for ‘Wonder Woman’

Date:

Gal Gadot’s ‘Wonder Woman’ paycheck was shockingly small.

Wonder Woman made over $500 million at the worldwide box office and may end up being more lucrative than Man of Steel or Batman v Superman. But how much did Gal Godot get paid for starring in such a hit feature film?

According to reports, Godot was paid $300,000 for her work in the movie. Actors in feature films often times receive a bonus for their film passes a box office milestone, so Godot will probably end up with more than that. However, in comparison to other Hollywood salaries, it sounds pretty low.

Gadot signed on for three movies, which are Batman v Superman, Wonder Woman and the upcoming Justice League. She broke the news in 2014 that she was paid $300,000 per movie, a figure that is not typically unusual for superhero franchises. In fact, Chris Evans earned $300,000 for captain America, and in 2013 Deadline reported that some of the Avengers earned $200,000 due to their multi-picture deals. Meanwhile, Robert Downey Jr. was able to land a deal of $50 million.

Despite those examples, Gadot’s pay illustrates Hollywood’s gender pay gap. According to Forbes, Henry Cavill earned $14 million for Man of Steel, including box office bonuses.

With Gadot contracted for three films and Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins signed up for only one, you can’t help but wonder if Warner Bros. thought the movie franchise wasn’t going to be that successful or if Jenkins could be replaced. But following the success of Wonder Woman, the two women will probably demand higher paychecks for any upcoming sequels.
