Why Netlix is The Only Thing That Can Save Adam Sandler’s Career

Date:

Adam Sandler’s continues his losing streak after ‘Pixels’ bombs in the box office.

Adam Sandler used to be one of Hollywood’s most consistent writers and actors. Now, his ability to entice moviegoers to watch a Happy Madison has basically evaporated.

‘Pixels’ only made $23 million over the weekend and according to reports, it cost Sony Pictures to $110 million to make ‘Pixels’. Therefore making ‘Pixels’ a box-office bomb for Sony Pictures.

Can Sandler save his career from another box office failure? Analysts argue that he will have to go back to the basics in order to reclaim the throne of Hollywood’s leading comedian.

“Sandler would benefit from going back to basics and giving audiences what made them love him in the first place,” says Rentrak box office analyst Paul Dergarabedian. “Sandler has made some terrifically funny films like Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore and The Wedding Singer and even delved into the indie world with a great, restrained performance in Punch-Drunk Love in 2002.”

Adam Sandler has made a total of $4 billion at the worldwide box office. But, in the last few years every movie has been a major disappointment. Last summer, ‘Blended’ was box office disaster making only $14.3 million during it’s opening weekend. Adam Sandler is known for creating box office hit movies such as ‘The Water Boy’ which earned $161.5 million in 1998 or ‘Big Daddy’ which earned $163.5 million in 1999.
