48 TV Shows and Movies Filming in Georgia in October

Georgia is quickly taking over the TV and film industry. Here are the 48 movies and TV shows filming in Georgia this October.

Georgia’s film industry is on fire. Here’s what’s filming in and around Atlanta.

Filming in Georgia has reached a new high, with several new movies and television productions now filming across the state. Here’s a breakdown of the latest film news in the state of Georgia.

Kevin Hart returned to Atlanta to film his new movie, Night School (Film Sign: GED). The movie centers around a group of adults attending night school in order to pass a GED exam. The movie will star Kevin Hart, and Girls Trip breakout star Tiffany Haddish.

Meanwhile, after winning a double Emmy win for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series, Donald Glover is back in the ATL for the second season of Atlanta (Film sign MINiM). Filming will shoot in East Point, Atlanta as well as Mechanicsville.

A Georgia film report would not be complete without the latest Marvel news. Marvel is now filming Ant-Man and the Wasp (Film Sign  ML), which stars Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Laurence Fishburne, and Michelle Pfeiffer.

Netflix’s new movie Nappily Ever After (Film Sign NEA) is now filming in Atlanta, Georgia. The movie is based on the novel by Trisha R. Thomas, Nappily Ever After is a romantic comedy about a woman who leaves her live-in boyfriend after he just won’t commit. The movie stars Sanna Lathan, Ernie Hudson, and Ricky Whittle

Hugh Jackman is in Atlanta filming his new movie The Front Runner (Film School TFR), a movie about a former Colorado Senator Gary Hart and his 1988 presidential campaign.

MTV’s Scream (Film Sign SS3) shot their first two seasons in Louisiana is now filming in Georgia. The show will include an entire new cast.

In other news, BET’s The Quad (Film Sign GAMU) has returned to film its second season around Morehouse College. CBS’s MacGyver (Film Sign EYE) continued to film its second season into September.

Understanding Georgia Film Tax Credit:

A state tax credit was signed into law in 2008 giving productions up to a 30 percent tax break by filming in Georgia. This incentive was enough to convince Hollywood producers to film in Georgia.

Big productions such as The Hunger Games, The Walking Dead and Divergent helped boost Georgia’s film industry. In fact, small cities are now being used as filming locations. Producers are searching and finding small towns across Georgia to film their TV shows. The small town of Senoia, Georgia has transformed since The Walking Dead set up location in the small town.

So what’s next?  In November, Pinewood studios announced they will be doubling the size of their studios, expanding the Georgia Film Industry, making it one of the biggest studios in the United States
