Rapper Meek Mill Loses Role in Will Smith Movie Thanks to Probation Violations

Date:

Millions of people would do nearly anything for a role in a Will Smith movie. But, one actor was placed in a bad situation and may have lost a role of a lifetime after a parole violation.

Nicki Minaj’s boyfriend, rapper Meek Mill, will miss out on a starring role in a new Will Smith-produced movie due to probation problems stemming from a 2008 drug and gun case.

Meek Mill has been going through strenuous hearings in a Philadelphia court room, even breaking down crying on the stand, and has been ordered not to work or perform before a February 5th sentencing.

According to Page Six, Meek Will was supposed to travel to Hollywood, California in November to star in the upcoming Will Smith movie, 12 O’Clock Boys.

The movie centers around the infamous West Baltimore illegal-dirt-bike riders who were the subject of an independent documentary that debuted two years ago at SXSW. Meek Mill was cast to play “Wheelie Wayne,” according to sources.

But, Meek Mill missed out on a scheduled trip because he had to take a urine test as part of his probation.

He is also expected to miss several concert dates that would have earned the rapper $140,000.

TMZ reported that during a Thursday hearing Meek’s lawyer asked him about an Oscar nomination for his song on the Creed soundtrack, “The DA quickly interrupted, ‘He’s in consideration! He’s not nominated.’ ” Either way, with his run in with the police the rapper will most likely miss the Oscars as well.

What do you think? Should Meek Mill lose out on his movie role? Share with us your thoughts in the comments below!
