Kirsten Dunst reveals she was pressured to undress for the cover of Maxim.

Kirsten Dunst is known one of the most popular veteran actresses in Hollywood. Her acting chops helped her land roles in movies with Woody Allen. She would later gain worldwide recognition after the movie Interview with the Vampire, a role for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress. But, the movie that launched her career was the in the movie Spider-Man where she played Mary Jane Watson.

But, before she was an A-list actress, Kirsten Dunst was a shy aspiring actress just trying to make it in Hollywood. Like many people, she started at the bottom and had build a name in order to grow her career.

In an interview with Stylist, Kirsten Dunst discussed a photoshoot when she was only 18 years old. In that Maxim photoshoot, the young aspiring actress was topless and wore little more than just a jean jacket.

Apparently, Kirsten Dunst was not too happy about the photo shoot for the cover of Maxim, she was pressured to remove more clothes than she was comfortable with. In fact, she said that at 18 she didn’t have the confidence to just say “no” when asked to do something she didn’t feel comfortable doing.

Kirsten Dunst on Hollywood and Fame

Kirsten has also spoken up about the harmful influence of fame in today’s society. In an interview with Town and Country Magazine, she discusssed the unrealistic expectations assigned to actors and actresses, who are expected to take criticism at all times.

This interview occurred after there were rumors of Kirsten’s association with drugs and alcohol, after she checked into Utah’s Cirque Lodge, in order to treat her depression.

Kirsten claims that her depression was brought on by the entertainment industry, which are unrealistic and damaging to those involved.

“What people expect of an actor is totally ridiculous.” […] “So all you can do is be yourself — just be who the hell you are.”
