Just when you thought the Halloween film franchise was dead, Miramix is bringing the psychopath serial killing movie character, Michael Meyers back to life. According to reports, John Carpenter will executive produce a new “Halloween” movie for Miramix, and promise that it will be “the scariest of all.” The multiple award-winning filmmaker behind the original 1978 “Halloween” movie will return to the franchise that scared the **** out of my parents, myself and my kids.

“Thirty-eight years after the original ‘Halloween’ I’m going to help to try to make the 10th sequel the scariest of them all,” Carpenter said in a statement.

The Halloween franchise was started by John Carpenter in 1978 and has created 10 movies since Michael Meyers first started killing teenagers, generating a total of $400 million worldwide box office earnings. The first movie featured Nick Castle, Jamie Lee Curtis in her acting debut as the girl he stalks after escaping from a psychiatric hospital, and Donald Pleasence as Dr. Loomis, desperately trying to track down his patient.

The first sequel, “Halloween II,” was released in 1981, three years after its predecessor, featuring Myers once again on a Halloween night quest of murder.
