Gambit’s production is delayed until 2017.
The X-men spinoff film starring Channing Tatum was supposed to start filming earlier this year but, after casting controversies and rumors that the movie’s director wanted to fire Channing Tatum, filming will not start until 2017.
According to producer Simon Kindberg, the movie, which will feature Channing Tatum as a superhero, is still in pre-production.
We have a great script on that and hope to shoot that movie at the beginning of spring of next year, Kindberg told The Hashtag Show in a short interview.
As for the real reason why production was delayed for almost an entire year? According to Comic Book Resources, the reason for the delay was the script, which Kindberg felt wasnt ready for filming. Back in May, he said that, there was a moment where we were going to shoot the movie at the beginning of this year, and then we felt it just wasnt ready.
We will have to wait and see if Gambit will actually work out to becoming a great movie, especially with Channing Tatum, who hasn’t had a hit movie outside of 22 Jump Street and Magic Mike.
