ESPN Ignores Ferguson Protestors During Monday Night Football

Date:

ESPN fails to address the Ferguson protestors in St. Louis Rams stadium during Monday Night Football.

The aftershocks of the Michael Brown shooting are still being felt throughout the state of Missouri. The ongoing protests over the death of Michael Brown made a quick appearance during the second half of the St. Louis Rams’ game on Monday night.

Protestors hung a banner reading, “Rams fans know on and off the field black lives matter,” over the top of a video board in the north end zone during the third quarter.

Few minutes later, several protestors marched with their hands raised in an aisle just below the upper deck in the south end zone. Five police officers continued to follow the group of protestors.

The protests come from the August shooting death of Michael Brown, who was black and unarmed, by Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson, who was white.

ESPN commentators did not address the sign on the field nor did they address the fans protesting throughout the game. Demonstrations continued before and after the game just a few feet away from the ESPN trailers outside of the Dome, but ESPN has not yet mentioned anything about the protests during their broadcast. Maybe they thought it was not worth discussing.
