Disney is Still Planning New Indiana Jones Movies

Disney is planning new Indiana Jones sequels.

Disney still wants to make another Indiana Jones movie but, the billion dollar movie studio is not sure when. At a recent interview with Variety, Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed that franchise is interested in making a new sequel in the near future.

In 2012, The Walt Disney Company acquired Lucasfilm, granting Disney ownership rights to the Indiana Jones series. Although a new film installment was not announced with the deal, Disney CEO Bob Iger has expressed an interest in monetizing the franchise across Disney’s various company divisions. Studio chairman Alan Horn has said that a fifth Indiana Jones film would not be ready for at least two to three years.

With so many Star Wars movies coming out in the near future, this latest information suggests we could be waiting a long time before the next Indiana Jones movie hits theaters. The fact that they aren’t in a hurry to make more films might suggest they are interested in rebooting the series instead of making another movie starring Harrison Ford. Previously, it was rumored that the movie studio was interested in a younger actor to take over the franchise but, those rumors were later denied.
