According to the Atlanta Business Journal, Marvel’s latest movie Captain America: Civil War spent more than $60 million in Georgia when it filmed in Pinewood Atlanta Studios earlier this year.

Variety reported that the upcoming third Captain America film, will be released on May 6, 2016 and will center around the Marvel “Civil War” storyline and will feature Robert Downey Jr.as Iron Man. Marvel also confirmed this along with the appearance of Black Panther in the new Captain Americamovie which will be played by Chadwick Boseman.
Marvel Studios is currently working on Guardians of the Galaxy 2 which will start filming in Fayetteville, Georgia. The latest casting call was looking for models to work on several scenes in the feature film.
A lot of Georgia’s film industry is based on Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal’s involvement in the film industry.
“I am committed to building a strong film-ready workforce in Georgia to ensure that the industry continues to flourish here,” Deal states in an announcement released earlier this month.
Governor Deal says movie and television production in Georgia generates $1.7 billion in spending in the state.
In order to support and expand the Georgia film industry, the newly established Georgia Film Academy is expected to provide students with degrees or certification to meet the demands of the entertainment industry.
The location of the academy will be announced this summer. one possible site is the former Rivers Elementary School, now known as the Pinewood Production Center.
