Georgia’s film industry is on fire.

There are over 40 TV shows and movies currently filming in the Peach State this March. Now, in order to keep the camera’s rolling in Atlanta, five major Georgia film and TV studios have partnered to form an association called “The Georgia Studio and Infrastructure Alliance.”

The goal is to provide education and legislative support to keep Georgia’s film industry alive. Also, they alliance will invest in educating new crew members to develop a larger crew base.

From the Biz Journal:

The Georgia Studio and Infrastructure Alliance (GSIA) will serve as a legislative and educational advocacy group for studio and production support businesses in Georgia’s film and television industry. Another focus is educating new crew members to develop a more robust crew base, which Georgia sorely needs if it wants to keep productions coming.

The organization has also partnered with Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle’s office and Georgia’s College and Career Academies to develop a training curriculum for film and TV jobs.

Here’s the list of film and TV studios involved in the Georgia Studio and Infrastructure Alliance:

  1. Eagle Rock Studios Atlanta
  2. EUE/Screen Gems Studios Atlanta
  3. Mailing Avenue Stageworks
  4. Tyler Perry Studios
  5. Triple Horse Studios

This news comes after reports of another studio may be headed to Savannah, Georgia.
