What is Stranger Things 4 about?

After only a few months of their season 3 debut, Netflix has released a new teaser for the fourth season of ‘Stranger Things’. The new footage suggests the next season will no longer take place in Hawkins, Indiana. However, this won’t be the end for the Duffer Brothers and Netflix. The duo has signed a multi-year film and series overall deal with the service.

“The Duffer Brothers have captivated viewers around the world with Stranger Things and we’re thrilled to expand our relationship with them to bring their vivid imaginations to other film and series projects our members will love,” Netflix’s Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos said in a statement. “We can’t wait to see what the Duffer Brothers have in store when they step outside the world of The Upside Down.”

Shawn Levy and ‘Deadpool‘ Director Reynolds Are Working on a ‘Stranger Things’ Crossover.

“It’s on the table.”

It looks like Shawn Levy, director of Stranger Things, is working on a twist to make things more interesting in Hawkins, Indiana.

Join Project Casting to access jobs you can apply to right now.

Earlier this week, Levy spoke with Variety’s Marc Malkin about the upcoming Strange Things Cinematic Universe. Levy said, “Yes, we are building out the STCU, and now that I’m spending time with [chief creative officer of Marvel Entertainment] Kevin Feige, I’m learning a lot about managing a universe. So I’m taking those skills and applying them to the STCU.”

Levy is also slated to direct the upcoming third Deadpool film with Ryan Reynolds. When asked if there could potentially be a crossover between the two entities, Levy gave fans a surprising answer that left them speechless.

“Funnily enough, [Deadpool star] Ryan [Reynolds] and I were trying to figure out how in the world could we do a Deadpool-Stranger Things crossover.

We haven’t cracked it yet, but it’s on the table.”

The STCU is currently working on several new projects by the Duffer brothers. There has been no indication of when or if, the crossover might occur.

‘Stranger Things’ Season 5: Everything we know so far

In an open letter published with fans in February 2022, the Duffer Brothers revealed the news themselves, accompanied by a Season 4 official poster.

“Seven years ago, we planned out the complete story arc for Stranger Things,” the duo wrote in their letter. “At the time, we predicted the story would last four or five seasons. It proved too large to tell in four, but — as you’ll soon see for yourselves — we are now hurtling toward our finale. Season 4 will be the penultimate season; season 5 will be the last.”

“With nine scripts, over eight hundred pages, almost two years of filming, thousands of visual effects shots, and a runtime nearly twice the length of any previous season, Stranger Things 4 was the most challenging season yet, but also the most rewarding one,” the Duffer Brothers shared, calling the fourth season “the beginning of the end.” The duo also shared that the decision to split the season in two parts was due to its “unprecedented length” and to get it to fans “as soon as possible.”

Since Stranger Things debuted on Netflix in 2016, the Duffer Brothers have served as series creators and showrunners. Now that season 4 is over, there is only one more season left of the hit Netflix series. The Duffer Brothers hinted that the Stranger Things universe will continue to expand. “There are still many more exciting stories to tell within the world of Stranger Things; new mysteries, new adventures, new, unexpected heroes.”

Stranger Things 5 is one of the most anticipated seasons yet. Here’s everything we know about the release date, plot details, cast info and more.

Stranger Things Season 5 Cast – who is returning?

The main cast from Season 4 is expected to return for Season 5. This includes Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Finn Wolfhard (Mike), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas), Gaten Matarazzo(Dustin), Noah Schnapp (Will), Priah Ferguson (Erica), Natalia Dyer(Nancy), Charlie Heaton(Jonathan) Maya Hawke(Robin). Joe Keery(Steve,) David Harbour(Hopper), and Winona Ryder as Joyce. Eddie Munson died a hero in Episode 9, saving his friends and protecting his town.

While speaking to Entertainment Weekly following the release of Volume 2, actress Sadie Sink (who plays Max) opened up about the agonizing scene in which her character dies. “It really is just so sad,” Sadie told EW. “When you’re putting yourself in that moment and then you’re with someone like Caleb, who I’ve known since I was very little, sometimes things can feel very real on that set. It was very emotional… It’s just so heartbreaking.” When asked about what lies ahead for Max in the show, Sink remained tight-lipped but expressed excitement for fans to see what’s in store.

Are new characters getting introduced in Stranger Things season 5?

In August, the Duffer Brothers spoke with IndieWire to explain their process for adding new characters to the show.

“Whenever we introduce a new character, we want to make sure that they’re going to be an integral part of the narrative,” Ross said. “So that’s something with Eddie [in season 4], where we go, ‘Well, we need a character here for this storyline to really work, and to give it the engine that is needed.’ But every time we do that, we’re nervous, because you go, ‘We’ve got a great cast of characters here, and actors, and any moment we’re spending with a new character, we’re taking time away from one of the other actors.’ So we’re just very, very careful about who we’re introducing.”

The Duffers also had a lot of love for the ensemble cast, which was especially notable after season 1, when Joseph Quinn, Sadie Sink, Maya Hawke, and Dacre Montgomery joined the show. While they avoid creating many new core characters in a single season, the Duffer Brothers acknowledged that fresh personalities may provide innovative ideas.

“I just like shaking it up, so we shake it up by changing the plot or adding in a new monster,” said Matt. “We’re doing our best to resist [adding new characters] for Season 5. We’re trying not to do that so we can focus on the OG characters, I guess.” With such a finite amount of time left with the OG Hawkins gang, it makes sense that the Stranger Things writers want to make sure that fans aren’t left feeling shorted by the series finale. This means there might be a new face around town in Stranger Things 5, but don’t count on it too much.

What is the plot of Stranger Things season 5?

Stranger Things 5 will most likely conclude the Hawkins gang’s final adventure as they combine forces to solve their greatest mystery yet: how to destroy Vecna permanently. The Duffer Brothers have announced that there will be a time jump in the show, and have also confirmed that the last season will primarily take place in Hawkins and the Upside Down. In recent interviews, the Duffer Brothers have stated that Season 5 will revolve around exploring the mythology of the Upside Down and answering long-awaited questions from viewers.

The Duffer Brothers have stated that they are unsure of what the last season will entail, however, they know the ending for certain.

“It’s like that lighthouse blinking in the distance… while a lot of Season 5 is actually pretty blurry, the last 30 minutes of it are pretty clear in our heads,” said Ross. “So if we can make the journey entertaining, I think that we have an end that will hopefully satisfy. You can’t satisfy everyone, but the hope is that it’s something that feels right for this story.”

The creative team behind the show told The Wrap that once they pitched their ideas for Season 5 to Netflix’s top executives, those executives cried real tears. “We do have an outline for Season 5 and we pitched it to Netflix and they really responded well to it,” Ross said. “I mean, it was hard. It’s the end of the story. I saw executives crying who I’ve never seen cry before and it was wild.”

Has Stranger Things season 5 started filming?

Writing for the last season began in summer 2022, according to the Duffer Brothers, who informed Collider that production on Stranger Things Season 5 hasn’t started yet. “We’re going to take a little vacation in July, and then we’re going to come back,” the siblings said back in July. “I know that the writer’s room is going to start in that first week of August.” The Duffer Brothers kept their promise: On August 2, the @strangerwriters Twitter feed published a short message with just two words.: “Day 1.” A group of people are seen in the reflection of a whiteboard with a hand-drawn Stranger Things 5 logo, and on the other side of the room you may see about ten individuals sitting around a table. The team has started writing for the fifth season of Stranger Things.

Does Netflix have a Stranger Things season 5 release date?

Although we don’t have an exact date yet, fans of Stranger Things can rest easy knowing that the wait for Season 5 will be much shorter than the 3-year wait between Seasons 3 and 4.

“The gap should be quite a bit shorter this time, due to the fact that we already have an initial outline, and we can’t imagine there will be another six-month forced hiatus,” the Duffer brothers said during an interview with Variety. We could potentially have a confirmed release date by early 2023. Given the show’s visual demands and the busy schedules of the young cast, who are now major stars in Hollywood, new episodes are unlikely to appear until late 2023 or 2024.

How many episodes will Stranger Things Season 5 have?

While appearing on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Matt Duffer let us know that Season 5 will have a regular amount of episodes, instead of being super-sized like Season 4 (which had 13 hours of total runtime).

“The only reason we don’t expect to be as long is, this season, if you look at it, it’s almost a two-hour ramp up before our kids really get drawn into a supernatural mystery,” Matt said. “You get to know them, you get to see them in their lives, they’re struggling with adapting to high school and so forth, Steve’s trying to find a date, all of that. None of that is obviously going to be occurring [in Season 5].”

Season 5 will have “less to ramp up.” “Characters are already going to be in action, they’re already going to have a goal and a drive, and I think that’s going to carve out at least a couple hours and make this [final] season feel really different,” Matt explained to The Wrap. “I’m sure the wrap-up will be a lot longer.”

Does Netflix have a trailer for Stranger Things season 5?

As of now, there is no trailer for Stranger Things Season 5. All we have to go on are the Duffer Brothers’ clues!

Are Stranger Things spinoffs coming soon?

The Duffer Brothers have been hinting for years that the Stranger Things universe is far from over, and as we approach the end of the original series, they’re starting to share more about their plans to expand the franchise.

“There’s a version of [a spinoff] developing in parallel [to season 5], but they would never shoot it parallel,” Ross said while speaking to Variety. “I think actually we’re going to start delving into that soon as we’re winding down and finishing these visual effects, Matt and I are going to start getting into it.”

“The reason we haven’t done anything is just because you don’t want to be doing it for the wrong reasons, and it was just like, ‘Is this something I would want to make regardless of it being related to Stranger Things or not?’ And definitely,” said Matt. “Even if we took the Stranger Things title off of it, I’m so, so excited about it. But it is not… it’s going to be different than what anyone is expecting, including Netflix.”

The Duffer Brothers have also said that they would prefer if someone else took over the spinoff series.“The idea, ultimately, is to pass the baton to someone else, someone who’s hopefully really talented and passionate,” Matt added while on Happy Sad Confused. “Even the idea of Ross and I, say, doing a pilot and leaving it, it just feels silly to me. You really need to be there from the beginning to end. I think we need to find a partner to help us with that.”

But apparently, Finn Wolfhard (Mike) took one guess at what the spinoff series was about and got it right. “Finn Wolfhard, he wasn’t spitballing, he just went, ‘I think this would be a cool spin-off,'” Ross shared with Variety. “And we were like, ‘How in the world…?'”

Stranger Things is coming to an end with season five after two-part season four.

Netflix has officially announced the highly-anticipated fourth season of Stranger Things will be split into two parts. In the same announcement, show creators Matt and Ross Duffer, said the show has been renewed for a fifth and final season. “With nine scripts, over 800 pages, almost two years of filming, thousands of visual effects shots, and a runtime nearly twice the length of any previous season, Stranger Things 4 was the most challenging season yet, but also the most rewarding one. Everyone involved is incredibly proud of the results, and we can’t wait to share it with you.”

The brothers added the first of the two parts of the fourth season will arrive May 27 and the second part will arrive five weeks later on July 1. They confirmed this season illustrates the “beginning of the end.” The official synopsis of the fourth season reads, “It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time — and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.”

Stranger Things has been a hit for Netflix, getting positive critiques from viewers and fans. So far, the show has been nominated for 31 Emmys and has won six in the creative arts categories. Stars Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin, Millie Bobby Brown, Noah Schnapp and Gaten Matarazzo are slated to return on May 27 for the first volume of season four. The release date for season five has not yet been revealed.

When does filming for ‘Stranger Things 4’ start?

Fans of the popular Netflix original series Stranger Things were excited when production started back in March. There were dozens of casting calls for photo doubles, stand-ins and background extras. While the cast could not say much about the series, they teased their excitement in an early table read.

Cast members Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Woolard, Priah Ferguson, and Caleb McLaughlin all appear in the VHS-cassette video clip of stars picking up scripts for the very first time.

However, production was shut down due to the Coronavirus. Five months later, Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer revealed the upcoming fourth season will not be the last season of the show.

“But the priority of the safety of the cast and crew, and that will dictate when we go back,” Ross told the Hollywood Reporter.

“We’ve had a lot more time to work on the scripts. For the first time, we have the scripts written and we’re able to look at it as a whole piece and make adjustments,” Matt added.

The Hollywood Reporter reports production for Stranger Things is expected to start on September 17th. The series, which filmed in Georgia for all its seasons, usually films at EUE Screen Gems.

What is Season 4 about?

In a recent interview, Duffer Brothers commented, “”We’re excited to officially announce that production for Stranger Things 4 is now underway—and even more excited to announce the return of Hopper! Although it’s not all good news for our ‘American’; [Hopper] is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, Russia, where he will face dangers both human… and other. Meanwhile, back in the States, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long buried, something that connects everything…”

‘Stranger Things Releases New Trailer

‘Stranger Things’ is now casting and filming in Atlanta, Georgia and Netflix are excited to see the future of the sci-fi series.

A new teaser for Netflix’s ‘Stranger Things’ season 4 has dropped, revealing the return of Chief Hopper played by David Harbour following the end of the previous season. In the footage featured above, we see a snowy location in Russia where Hopper can be seen building a railroad. It looks like Hopper is alive, although living and working in Russia where it was teased experiments on the Upside-Down have been taking place. It is rumored they are creating soldiers similar to Eleven in the secret location.

Production on ‘Stranger Things 4’ is in full swing. This teaser is a signal that the market campaign for season 4 is coming soon. There is no release date currently for ‘Stranger Things’, but with Netflix pumping up the marketing for the series, we will soon see the streaming series coming soon to the series.

But, how does someone land a role in Stranger Things season 4?

According to IMDB, the series casting was done by Carmen Cuba, Tara Feldstein, and Chase Paris.

In a recent interview, Stranger Things casting director Carmen Cuba shared tips for aspiring actors. She says,  “I find that most kids actually have a singularity to them that isn’t actually represented in kid casting. I think that traditionally kids who look a particular way—cute’ and ‘all-American’ are typical words used to describe what I mean—are encouraged to pursue acting and modeling and it results in a somewhat homogeneous representation of what a kid looks like. We definitely did not want that. We all remembered our childhood selves and wanted to replicate the awkward transitional beauty we experienced.”

For a TV series this big, casting directors are contacting talent through talent agencies. If you are interested in a speaking role in the upcoming new season contact your talent agent for an audition. If you do not have an agent, check out our guide to landing an acting agent here.

Netflix is teaming up with Casting TaylorMade to find talented individuals to portray various medical roles in the highly anticipated fifth season of ‘Stranger Things’.

The Search for Authenticity

For the upcoming production, Netflix is keen on casting actors who can bring authenticity to the medical roles. They are looking for individuals aged 18-65+ from all genders and ethnic backgrounds. Whether you are a nurse, doctor, orderly, or have other medical training, your expertise could be invaluable for this project. This isn’t just a casting call – it’s a chance to blend your medical knowledge with the art of acting.

What’s Expected?

Selected actors will participate in the filming scheduled for January 2024. Additionally, there’s a mandatory fitting session with the wardrobe, hair, and makeup teams on January 22, 23, 24, or 25, 2024. Flexibility is key, as some roles may require a haircut to fit the character’s look, for which additional compensation will be provided.

Joining the ‘Stranger Things’ Family

This opportunity is more than just appearing on camera. It’s about being part of a dynamic filming project. Actors will work closely with the director and crew to fulfill the creative vision of the production. It’s a chance to see firsthand how a globally successful series is made and potentially be a featured part of it.

Requirements and Compensation

Prospective candidates must have prior medical experience and the ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with a production team. The commitment to the scheduled filming and fitting dates is crucial. Compensation includes a rate of $200 per 12-hour day of filming, with an additional $50 for attending the fitting session and a $20 haircut bump if applicable.

Why It’s Exciting?

This casting call is an extraordinary opportunity for those with medical backgrounds to merge their professional expertise with their passion for acting. It’s not just about playing a role; it’s about bringing realism and depth to a world beloved by millions. Plus, being part of ‘Stranger Things’ Season 5, even in a small role, means becoming part of a cultural phenomenon.
