‘Roots’ Remake Mini-Series Open Casting Call in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Caballero Casting is now looking for extras to work on the TV mini-series ‘Roots’ while it films in New Orleans, Louisiana.
According to The Verge, A&E Networks is working on the Roots remake. The new mini-series will be a remake of the classic 1997 miniseries that traced a black family’s history from salvery on to the end of the Civil War. The eight-episode series, which has been in the works since 2013, will air simultaneously on The History Channel, A&E, and Lifetime in 2016.

African American Kids from 0 MONTHS- 6 years of age to work in Baton Rouge on Monday, August 24th. Selected kids will work other days (TBA) in the New Orleans area. FITTINGS WILL take place in NOLA area before filming begins on Friday, this Friday!!
These kids will be picture picked by the director, featured.
Please note** We will not be able to book kids with modern haircuts/styles or braces. All kids will have to have natural/grown out hair and no braids.

STORY LINE:
The original “ROOTS” (1977) is known for earning 9 Emmys, a Golden Globe and a Peabody award.

Fittings will likely take place throughout the run of the shoot and not everyone will be cast immediately.

Must be over 18. Must have natural hair (no extensions/hair dye or fades/military cuts.) Should be willing to grow hair out.
Must really be able to play one of these instruments but not necessarily a professional, you may end up just mimicking the act “Pretend Playing.”

Must be between 13-18 age range.
NO BRACES!!! NO UNNATURAL HAIR COLORS and NO MODERN HAIR STYLES. FEMALES: Hair should be longer than shoulder length.
