Oprah Winfrey‘s Queen Sugar is now casting DJs in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Casting directors are now casting actors, models, and talent to work on scenes filming on Tuesday, May 29th in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Producers are seeking the following types:

  1. FEMALE DJ: African American. You do not have to have your own equipment but should be familiar with DJing
  2. FEMALE RAPPER: African American Female
  3. AFRICAN AMERICAN FAMILY: We will match if we have to but we’d love a real family. Mother/Father in 30s or early 40s with a son around 10 years old

About Queen Sugar:

Queen Sugar is a drama TV series, created, directed and executive produced by Ava DuVernay alongside Oprah Winfrey. The series is based on novel with same name by Natalie Baszile. Queen Sugar follows the life of two sisters, Nova Bordelon (playing by Rutina Wesley), the formidable journalist and activist from New Orleans, and Charley Bordelon (Dawn-Lyen Gardner), a modern woman, who, with her teenage daughter Micah, leaves her upscale apartment in Los Angeles and moves to the heart of Louisiana to claim an inheritance from her recently departed father – an 800-acre sugarcane farm.
