Low Budget Indie “Freestyle” Casting Call in Wilmington, North Carolina

Casting directors are seeking actors for an upcoming indie low budget film, “Freestyle” filming in Wilmington, North Carolina.

NCasting posted the following Casting Call on their Facebook Page:
The roles are unpaid but it will be an excellent opportunity for actors to gain experience on set and have tons of fun with our awesome crew.

The film is basically about a young girl, Violet, on a swim team who is dealing with the awkwardness of growing up and trying to fit in.

Many of the roles do not involve any dialogue but are very heavily featured. They crucial pieces of the film that we want to cast the right people for.

The film will be submitted to multiple film festivals all around the country.

Here are the character breakdowns:

“VIOLET”: Female lead, age 7-8, Caucasian, must be comfortable swimming.

“COACH”: Male or female, age 30-40’s, any ethnicity, swim coach.

“LIFE GUARD”: Male, High school age, Caucasian, athletic, good with kids.

“TEENAGE GIRL AT VANITY”: Female, High school age, any ethnicity, lean, swim team experience preferred.

“JULES”: Female, age 7-8, Caucasian, girly, popular, star of the swim class (must be a strong swimmer and know the freestyle stroke).

“SWIM TEAM GIRLS”: (4) Females, ages 7-8, Caucasian, must be comfortable swimming (freestyle and backstroke).

“COUNSELOR”: Female, age 14-16, any ethnicity, good with kids.

“TEENAGER PUTTING ON MAKEUP”: Female, High school age, Caucasian, lean and athletic.

***WE WILL BE MAKING APPOINTMENTS FOR AUDITIONS ON SUNDAY NOVEMBER 3RD FROM 12-5 PM IN KENAN HALL AT UNCW. ***

Please email [email protected] to schedule your appointment. The auditions will run every 15 minutes starting from 12 pm.

Filming will take place the first weekend in December on Saturday the 7th and Sunday the 8th.
