Disney is holding an open casting call for singers, dancers, and character look-alikes in New York City.

Disney Creative Entertainment, in association with Oriental Land Company (OLC), is seeking Principal Vocalists, Dancers and Disney Character Look-alikes for an incredible array of live entertainment at Tokyo Disneyland® Park and Tokyo DisneySea® Park.

Performers bring entertainment to guests through shows that range from a ’40s Big Band Revue, to a rousing, fun-filled musical featuring Cinderella, Snow White, Prince Charming and many others.

7 – 12 month contracts (depending on role) begin January/February/March 2015. Performers receive competitive salary ($600 USD – $930 USD per week), per diem, round trip travel, private apartments, 5-day work weeks, and the chance to experience one of the world’s most fascinating and vibrant cities.

Roles

VOCALISTS – 7 month contracts, $930 USD per week
Diamond Jim: Male, 20s-30s, Caucasian, 5’10”-6’2″, slender to normal build, strong and handsome leading man for the Diamond Horseshoe Saloon, moves well, engaging with great ability to interact with an audience. Baritone/Tenor with a beautiful, rich sound.

Slue Foot Sue: Female, late 20s, Caucasian, 5’4″-5’7, slender build, charismatic and playful owner of the Diamond Horseshoe Saloon, lights up the stage with her engaging personality, great with audience interaction, Soprano/Belt.

Latin-style Pop Tenor: Male, 20s-30s, Latino, 5’9″+, slender to normal build, good physique, pop idol looks and great charisma for “Minnie, Oh Minnie!”, a Latin-flavored revue, moves well, ability to sing in Spanish a plus, Pop Tenor to A flat.

’40s-style Male Vocalist: Male, late 20s-40s, African-heritage or Caucasian, 5’9”+, thin to average build, seasoned principal vocalist for “Big Band Beat”, a large-scale musical where the Cotton Club meets Big Band Swing, performed with a live orchestra, handsome and charismatic, can command a stage with his star quality and charm, moves well, tap a plus, Baritone/Tenor to a G.

’40s-style Female Vocalist: Female, 20s-40s, Caucasian, 5’3″-5’7″, slender build, epitome of ’40s glamour, charismatic with strong stage presence for “Big Band Beat”, a large-scale musical where the Cotton Club meets Big Band Swing, performed with a live orchestra, moves well, tap a plus, Soprano/Belt.

Blues Singer: Female, 20s-40s, African-heritage, 5’3″-5’8″, slender to curvy build, glamorous and beautiful, charismatic with strong stage presence for “Big Band Beat”, a large-scale musical where the Cotton Club meets Big Band Swing, performed with a live orchestra, moves well, Belt.

DANCERS – 12 Month contracts, $800 USD per week
Ballet/Jazz Dancers: Males 5’9″+, Females 5’3”-5’5”, to portray classic Disney Princes & Princesses such as Cinderella, Snow White and Prince Charming in “One Man’s Dream II: The Magic Lives On”, a rousing musical revue, must be trained in both ballet and jazz with exceptional stage presence and dynamic performance ability

Male Ballet Dancers: 5’5”-5’8”, slender build, strong ballet technique, portrays Peter Pan in “One Man’s Dream II: The Magic Lives On”, a rousing musical highlighted by a magical flight across the sky by none other than Peter Pan himself, must not have a fear of heights.

Male Jazz/Tap Dancers: 5’8”+, strong solo tappers trained in jazz and tap with exceptional charisma and commanding stage presence for “Big Band Beat”, a large-scale musical where the Cotton Club meets Broadway meets Big Band Swing, especially seeking African-heritage dancers.

FEMALE DANCERS WHO RESEMBLE ARIEL – 12 Month contracts, $800 USD per week
Ariel: Ariel’s wide eyed charm and adventurous spirit are infectious but she can be just as head strong when dealing with matters that are important to her. As the entire production occurs suspended in the air, dancers must have strong abdominal/back muscles with beautiful port de bras and no fear of heights. Experience with 2 point harness a plus, but not required. Performer must be able to lip sync to Japanese track. (Japanese language not required).

DISNEY CHARACTER LOOK-ALIKES – 12 month contracts, $600 USD per week
Character look-alike performers develop improvisational skills while appearing before thousands of guests each day in “meet and greets”, parades, spectaculars and special events across the Tokyo Disney Resort. Candidates should resemble the Characters in look, height and personality; strong movement ability is required. Some roles also require strong acting abilities.

Male Disney Character Look-alikes: 5’0”-5’7” and 5’9”-6’0”. Roles include iconic Disney Princes and Heroes: Captain Jack Sparrow, Indiana Jones, Aladdin, Prince Charming, Prince Phillip, Mad Hatter, and Peter Pan.

Female Disney Character Look-alikes: 4’11”-5’7”. Roles include iconic Princesses, Heroines and notorious villains including: Jasmine, Pocahontas, Alice, Wendy, Tinker Bell, Rapunzel, Ariel, Belle, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, and Cruella DeVil.

Requirements:
Vocalists: Prepare two contrasting vocal selections (best 16 bars of each) which reflect the style of the show for which you are auditioning. You must bring sheet music in the correct key; an accompanist will be provided. Be prepared to learn a movement combination.
Dancers: Wear appropriate dance attire/shoes and be warmed-up and ready to begin at the listed time. Please note, height requirements are strictly adhered to.
Disney Character Look-alikes: Be prepared for a movement evaluation.
• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and willing to relocate to Tokyo for the terms of their individual contracts.
• Provide a current photo and resume.
